Free Family Activities in denver this summer!

The warm weather has arrived, and summer is one of the best times to enjoy all of the amazing activities Denver has to offer while spending quality time with your family. Denver offers so many of free activities that cater to families, from outdoor adventures to city experiences!

  1. Check out one of Denver's Parks! Denver is full of parks, each with its unique charm and attractions. Spend a day at City Park, where you can visit the Denver Zoo or enjoy a lunch by the lake. It also has a great splash pad for hot days! Washington Park is great for a quick nature walk, bike rides, or even flying kites! Cheesman Park offers amazing views of the city skyline and has a fantastic playground for the kids. The best thing about these parks? They're completely free!

  2. Hang out at the Denver Botanic Gardens: Although its in the middle of the city, the Denver Botanic Gardens' 24 acres of biodiversity feel like a whole other world. While admission fees normally apply, on August 15 of this year admission will be free! Explore the beautiful gardens, encounter wildlife, and let your children go wild in the children's play area!

  3. Explore the Denver Art Museum: The Denver Art Museum offers free general admission for kids aged 18 and under, making it a perfect destination for artistic exploration! Check out artwork from various cultures and time periods, participate in hands-on activities, and engage in some of the interactive exhibits made educate children. The museum also organizes many family-friendly events and workshops, providing a great time for everyone!

  4. Discover the Denver Public Library: The Denver Public Library is not just a wonderful place to browse for new books, but also a center for free activities aimed at families! They have story times and puppet shows, as well as workshops and movie screenings!

  5. Visit Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre: Just a 15 drive from Denver, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is a beautiful way to spend a morning, or even a full day! Check out the red sandstone formations, take a hike along the trails, and let the kids run wild in the open spaces. The best part about it? When there aren't ticketed events going on, the space is a public park free to all visitors!



During the summertime, Denver offers an abundance of free family activities that will keep everyone entertained and create lifelong memories. Whether you're exploring the city's parks, immersing yourselves in art and culture, or connecting with nature, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
